Ziplining at Xplore Roatan -A Fatty Friendly Experience

Roatan is a beautiful island in the Caribbean Sea, and one of the best ways to see it is from the air. Xplore Roatan offers a variety of ziplining tours that take you through the lush rainforest, over the water, and past some of the island's most stunning scenery.

Kat, Frankie and Iya recently had the opportunity to try out Xplore Roatan's ziplining tour, and it was an amazing experience. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and they made sure that we were safe at all times. With Iya being slightly over 260 lbs, she was double strapped which provided an extra level of security and lessened her anxiety. The ziplines were well-maintained and the views were incredible.

We started our tour with a safety briefing from one of our amazing tour guides Clifford who we referred to as Cliff. There was also Tomate and his partner which we lovingly referred to as Lechuga. We learned how to use the harnesses, carabiners, how to brake and how our weight is distributed. Then, we were taken to the first zipline, which was a taste of what’s to come. After that, we were off on an adventure that took us through 6 ziplines ranging in length, height and scenery.

The ziplines were all very different, but they all had one thing in common: they were all amazing! We flew through the rainforest, over the treetops, and past the waterfalls. We got to see some of the island's most beautiful scenery from a bird's-eye view.

One of the highlights of the tour was the the unexpected ride up the mountain. We rode up the mountain in a crafty pickup that had us all in stitches and clutching our pearls. Another highlight was how Fatty Friendly they were. There were several zipline options however this one had the highest weight limit of 300 lbs. Some of the others were as low as 225 lbs.
